What this website can and cannot do

Use a qualified contractor for the inspection and discuss any findings with the surveyor, solicitor, lender or insurer involved. Our guides cannot tell you whether a report will meet their requirements.

The tool uses only the answers you choose. It does not know your property’s condition, drainage layout, ownership or access arrangements. If you are unsure, ask the relevant professional before booking.

The quote tool adds up the prices and VAT you supply. Missing charges stay unconfirmed. It cannot check the contractor’s quote, identify hidden costs or decide which firm you should choose. Ask the contractor to confirm the work and total in writing.

Access, blockages and visibility can limit a camera survey. Ask the contractor to record any parts they could not inspect.

A RICS Level 2 house survey (opens in a new tab) includes visual checks of accessible drainage chambers. This is not the same as a specialist camera survey inside the pipes.
